The holiday season was in full swing and Tola had had enough. Endless traffic, overbooked malls, and the annual family debate about who should host Christmas dinner**–** she needed an escape plan**-**and fast. Enter Titi, her younger sister and serial adventurer, armed with a suggestion that promised to save their sanity “Let’s do a staycation at Bedrock Residencies!”

Tola was skeptical at first. “Why would we pay to stay in the same city?” she asked. But the thought of premium short-let apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows that promised city views**-** and that sweet, blessed silence of no nosy neighbors made her reconsider.

The moment they arrived, Tola knew Titi was onto something. Their apartment was cozy yet tastefully designed, with a soft color palette of greys and creams, punctuated by pops of blue in the cushions and artwork. The living room was dominated by a huge, plush couch made for sinking into**-which Titi promptly did, claiming it within minutes. “This is where I’m spending Christmas Day,” she declaredstretching out-**already looking more relaxed than Tola had seen her all week.

Their escape wasn’t just about lounging though. Titi had one mission Choco’s Bistro. “We can’t stay here and not eat at the bistro,” she insisted. Tola had seen her sister go into “foodie-mode” before but this was the next-level focus. It didn’t disappoint. Tola fell in love with the lamb chops which were tender and smoky, with a rich aroma of rosemary and garlic that made her mouth water from across the table. Titi**-meanwhileraved about the spicy cocktails– especially one that made her eyes light up, which she described as having a hint of chili that lingered on her tongue like a playful dare**-**that matched her fiery personality.

The highlight**?** The late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the outdoor pool area, where they settled in at the bar, Choco’s Bistro signature grills sizzling nearby, their scent mingling with the refreshing smell of chlorine and the promise of a cool beer. “This is the Christmas miracle we didn’t know we needed,” Tola admitted, laughing as Titi tried to convince her to extend their stay. “Just imagine,” Titi said, “a week of this. No car horns, no crowded stores…” Tola had to admit, the thought was appealing.

By the end of their staycation, they’d laughed, feasted, and most importantly, found the serenity they’d craved. They’d also discovered something about themselves and each other and for Tola and Titi, Bedrock Residencies and Choco’s Bistro turned the chaos of the holidays into a memory worth reliving. They returned home feeling rested and closer, with a new shared memory they knew they’d cherish.
